Anyone know any of the upcoming players? Please don't tell me Peyton is in the top 10. I also saw Michael Irvin's face coming up. In the top 20? Please. Top 80 or 90 is more like it.

Michael Irvin among the 20 best NFL players of all time????????????? That's disgraceful.

Irvin in the top 20? NO chance. I'd be hard pressed to fit him in the top 100.

It's completely arbitrary (and flawed). I stopped paying attention a long time ago.

I have no idea what the OP is talking about.
Am I supposed to know (or care)?

Magazines, websites and television networks come out with these top 100 lists all the time. They don't mean anything. They're fun to talk about, but don't take them too seriously. I wouldn't get too wrapped in who is ranked where.

Irvin checked in somewhere in the 90s. Nowhere near this high.

With 20 players left, Id think some of these guys are about to fall in line:

1 Jim Brown
2 Jerry Rice
3 Joe Montana
4 Johnny Unitas
5 Walter Payton
6 Lawrence Taylor
7 Reggie White
8 Barry Sanders
9 Ronnie Lott
10 **** Butkus
11 Deacon Jones
12 Ray Lewis
13 Peyton Manning
14 Anthony Munoz
15 Mean Joe Greene
16 Otto Graham
17 Don Hutson
18 Bronko Nagurski
19 Ken Houston
20 Sammy Baugh

In no particular order.

Cant believe I left off Brett Favre. One of those other greats isnt making it. Maybe Ken Houston.

Irvin was #92.

Manning has not been named yet, so he is going to be top 20.

Actually, it's a great show. It is always easy to disagree with the rankings, especially since ranking players is virtually impossible.

You guys catch John Hannah at #24? Brought back a lot of memories. He was the greatest guard in football history, imo. I loved Klecko's tribute to Hannah. You see some brief footage of Hannah blocking the great Randy White as well.

Hannah was the bes guard in history, you are correct! I'm thrilled that he's number 24. I voted a bunch for him! Andre Tippet's name has not come up yet, meaning, I think, that he'll be in the Top 20. It was nice to see Brady finish ahead of Elway and Marino. I'm sure alot of 14 year olds voted for Brett Favre.

His HORRIBLE playoff record, and his high amout of interceptions is something they don't even know about. All they know is ESPN, and the non-stop Favre stories. Too bad, but that's the way it is.

For the life of me I can't understand why people keep rating Manning over Brady.

3 superbowls and one loss to 1 and 1. Also didn't Brady have one of the greatest regualar seasons ever.

It's all about the name.

It's all about Spygate.

Fixed. People won't recognize Tom because of how the media made them feel. Then, TFB went out and had the season of a lifetime, essentially sticking to everyone even more.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. I think it's based on two things: 1) Manning's consistent statistical advantage over Brady, with Manning seen as the life-blood of the Colts while Brady is a fantastic QB but more of a 'game manager' (whatever that means) and 2) people's lack of understanding the dome effects on QB stats. It's been brought up over and over and over, but as of 3-4 years ago (I think) when CHFF wrote the article Brady had better QB ratings both in domes and in open air stadiums. It just so happens that Manning plays more than half his games in a dome while Brady's lucky to get 3 games a year there.

It's funny that in the top 10 players of the decade Brady was ahead of Manning on NFL network yet manning didn't really have a good season till 2000 who comes up with these lists.
