From Fantasy Football Jungle:

28. New England Patriots - Kalil, Ryan, C USC

And the Pats need another backup C why, exactly? Oh, that's right, because Pat Kirwan said they do.

With two first round picks and the fact that the Patriots have signed three WR's this offseason already, the Pats look to solidify a position for years to come here. . He is an intelligent team player who coordinates with his teammates and understands his role. Natural athletic skills and smarts should allow him to play any position on an offensive line. Ryan Kalil is obviously the best center in the Draft, and is first round talent, but due to the weak power of this position in the Draft this amazing talent will probably fall out of the 1st round if not taken here by the Pats. The Pats might even elect to try and trade down slightly and take him later.

Only if he's still around in the third. . . . and the Pats think they can convert him.

I like Kalil a lot but agree that I wouldn't want him given our situation just like I don't want a OG.
