Couple of color commentators like the late Merlin Olson have discussed being fired up. They tend to the think being methodical is better than being very emotional over the course of a season. Occasionally when a Cleveland or Jacksonville beats a good team, I think: why don't they do that for the other 15 games?

The Revenge Season: I can see a few games like tonight's against the Colts to completely stick it to an opponent - I get that. Don't know if it's possible to sustain that kind of rage for ever game. Having an ax to grind every game - yes, just not on the level I expect to see tonight.
