I thought that Yates, Mruc, Tucker, and the rest of the OL played well yesterday. The run holes were meager, but Taylor had little pressure.

Also, is Matt Light shelved or what? I suppose we shouldn't expect him in there as it would shake-up an otherwise cohesive unit, but I don't recall him ever going on IR. So, he could come back. (Thoughts?)

Its good to see we finally have some apparent depth on the OL. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out in the post-season.

yeah Light was IRed sometime back ... I think 1st part of December.

Also, I thought the Oline did a pretty good job for Matt. But give
Matt some credit for his scrambling ability.

i seem to remember patriots actually making an announcement about light's condition last month. something about bone not healing, blood seepage, something like that. it caused a lot of speculation on this board about patriots medical staff and trainers. seems llike they got a problem, with injuries taking longer than normal to heal. look at ted washington's broken leg vs. light's.

i saw an OL out there, they seemed to be working together, but they weren't making any headway against miami's first string. i guess you could put one of them out there with the varsity if ya had to, but the others should be gulping down as many steroids as possible.

Light went on IR the week before the Jets away game.

My initial impession was the line did play well in substitution. Pass blocking was good, run blocking was unexceptionable, but probably pre-Jax vanilla. Kaczur appeared to handle the rush well. I started watching the tape and Neal had a goof in pass blocking that allowed Tommy to be flushed on the play where Deion ran a yard short for the first down (two mental errors on one play). However, Tommy went right behind Neal on the subsequent QB sneak - and Neal plowed over Traylor to pave the way. Miami clearly knew Tommy's tendency and put their run stuffing human wall there, and it did no good. More to follow as I watch.

Dante is the best position coach in the NFL. And, he has coached a lot of positions besides OL and has been good at all of them.

I mostly watched Kaczur during the game. He did a good job keeping Taylor at bay.

Thats what impressed me the most. Thanks for the Light update BTW...I missed that one completely. Next year this OL should be solid and aside from maybe one additional G, we seem to have enough depth to not use draft picks on it.

The fact that there's been relatively little *****ing and moaning on this and other boards alone is reason to give the OL props - especially given the injuries they've endured this year.

There have been plenty of lapses if you look at things play by play, but if you're generally not noticing your OL, chances are they are doing their job well

Certainly, Brady's pocket presence deserves thanks for the lack of sacks etc as well, but I'll definately tip my hat to the OL.
