To those who were curious here:

Who is officiating this game?

Tony Corrente and crew. They've worked zero Pats games this season...and 1 Charger vs 9er game (16 penalties). They're considered middle of the pack (not highly rated or poor). Look out for defensive flags...

You guessing or you know this how? And if you do, you mean the couldn't find a crew chief from outside Southern California???

Corrente resides in La Mirada, California and teaches high school social sciences outside of his NFL officiating duties.

Reiss has this info:

Tony Corrente is scheduled to referee Sunday's playoff game between the Patriots and Chargers. This will mark the first time this season that Corrente's crew has called a game in which the Patriots have played. Corrente's crew had only 14 total replay challenges this season, which was tied for a league low. Of those 14 challenges, only two calls were reversed, also tied for a league low. That 14.3 percent reversal rate was well below the league average of 34.5 percent.

Corrente's crew has called an average of 13.1 assessed penalties per game. The league average was 11.9 assessed penalties per game.

Sorry I was unable to provide a link earlier...

I am surprised that the NFL picked, and is allowing, a ref from Southern California.

Look at the bright side. They could've given us Mike Carey (whom I like). But he also LIVES in San Diego. So there's lots to be thankful for.

Let's just let the players play and move on to the next group of board-trashing fans...
