Worst flaw in the defense so far has been horrible tackling. And not just by "the usual suspects". When the defense is playing pseudo-goalline, crowding the LoS, if the tackle isn't made in the first 5 or so yards, the runner has a lot of space after that. Even so, decent open-field tackling that could have limited some of those big gains to 10-15 yards has been completely absent.
Rowe has played pretty well so far. I presume that he started over Butler in part because he had a better week of practice, maybe partly because of his size. And the Pats have been playing 3 and 4 safeties quite a bit.
The issue with Rowe for almost 2 years now has been that he just can not time his jumps at all. He is fine in coverage but once he has to anticipate the arc of a ball he somehow misjudges them consistently..
