To look back at recent history - the Bengals drafted Burrow and Higgins high, but went into the season with a ****-tier OL. This caused Burrow to get hurt early and miss most of his rookie season. Due to that they went into the next draft with another high pick and got Chase, which led them to be a Super Bowl team that same season (though they still had some OL issues, but it was a little better).

Id like to avoid the getting the rookie qb hurt part

The OL coach is being too technical. Not keeping it simple. Those guys are confused and inept.

But the defensive coaches have the guys flying around.

Absolutely. I’m just pointing to an example of where even when disaster struck a team in a similar situation, they turned it around to a SB level team the next year
