I don't care about age nor should anyone. Performance is what matters.
He cares about it. He even stated so. The performance since Brady left is… not great.

the BB firing talk seems crazy, but maybe not. This season might end up 5-12, and I wonder if he calls it after that.
If so, the Sean Payton idea is fantastic. He could take Mac to a top 10 QB.
Also, Mac is still just 20 starts into his NFL career. He's had 2 different systems already in his first 2 years. The attacks on him having no presence or clutch is ridiculous. He's just made some errors on throws, and it's mostly been with Parker - a new target learning timing, etc. Brady still made some stupid throws in his 20th year. Josh Allen was called a bust after 2 years. Just have patience. This kid is not a loser.
Why does it seem crazy to you? BB has not won a playoff game since 2018. He has made a ton of poor personnel decisions and he has done a horrible job with a succession plan for his coaching staff. I think not talking about him being fired would be crazy.

I figured this would be a down season for the Pats. If QB becomes a major sore point, it could be a really down season, especially with a defensive coach calling plays on offense. As for BB being in the hot seat, he is in better shape than McD, who lost his first 2 games and is already on thin ice with the Raider fans.

He’s a good player. My guess is Fat Matt doesn't like him.

Honestly, so far and this could change, I liked this team more last year. Still early, though.
What annoyed me is that he fumbled. Since he's in the dog house, that gets amplified (even though Agholor's had 2 of them).

My point is as fans is we should not care about his age as long as the team wins.

I think the problem is Mac "zipping it" means he's putting a lot more energy into the throw compared to most any other QB to make up for his weak arm. I agree, mechanically he needs to have everything perfect to get decent velocity on the ball.
I really don't understand what you're saying.

When people wind up, they usually lack accuracy. I didn't see Mac lack accuracy when he zipped it today. That basically means his throw was as it should be.

I think Mac's arm is as good as several QBs in the league and just as good as people like Drew Brees.

BB would be out of a job for maybe a week.

That's because anyone who knows anything about football knows he's at the top of his profession.

Patriot fans have this idea that you can reproduce a top notch team with coaches like McDaniel or McVay.

But this is what McVay and his top 10 NFL offense of all time compare to Belichick:

After checking out many of the other games the one area I think Bill is falling behind in is his belief in defense. Today the rules say play offense 7 out of 10 possessions will result in a score of some sort for the offense typically. Bill is right in that the thing that will beat you is yourself if you turn the ball over you give your opponents those extra chances to score.

I think this is also why the #1 receiver becomes important it is not so much his speed as the ability to get the ball in many cases unhindered. If he does have someone on him it is usually a much smaller player who can't outjump him.

I don't know the game has changed so much since I started watching it used to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust. The defense made a difference, but now you can't touch anyone or you get a flag so it is time to change. I'm not sure which way I prefer the game, but the old way did lead to more injuries.

The other thing that seems to be important now is a quarterback that can sling it. If you can't throw it to the guy what does it matter if you have him. I don't know where the Patriots are talent wise right now I know some say no talent others say a good team, but we are making too many mistakes to win with the talent we have right now. I think the offseason is going to be an interesting period as whoever is the GM will have to make some tough decisions on the talent the Patriots have right now.

Just my rambling above you can tell I don't know too much about football, but do have some opinions.

And we all saw today how Brady looks without star receivers around him at his age...
No way! You mean quarterbacks don’t look as good without good options to throw the ball to. What are you going to tell me next? The defense needs competent DBs to defend the pass?

Since we are going to talk about Bill stepping down or getting fired after every loss (LOL), the Krafts should focus their next hire on someone offensively from the Shanahan/McVay coaching tree. Look at how NFC title games/Super Bowls they've been two between Shanahan, McVay, and LaFleur within the last few years. Now you have McDaniel 3-0 with the Dolphins. All of the QB's have had better years when they were hired.
Yeah, I remember a few years ago when McVay took the Rams to the Super Bowl. They had one of the top 10 offenses in NFL history. It was amazing.

Then they scored 3 points in the Super Bowl.

McVay was lucky to play the complete mess of an org in the Cincy Bengals last year.

And really, the Rams looked like crud in that game, and Stafford was no great shakes either.

We were in the playoffs last year with a rookie qb....up until week 14 he was the leading candidate for coach of the year. The GOAT isn't going anywhere and who would you want to replace him with Payton, Patricia, Judge, some unproven assistant?

This is the first time in 20+ years Bill is coaching a team that has zero star players or building blocks on either side of the ball. Bill's schemes will only go so far allowing his team's to hang around, but that's about it. We need those building blocks on both sides of the ball.

If BB ever got fired, I highly doubt the Krafts are gonna replace him with Patricia or Judge.

Mac has options. He seems to be locking onto his first one or dumping it off to his last one (or just running it like in this game).

Um, Brady looked just fine in 2016 and 2017 with a bunch of smurfs....he's just can't carry an offense any more. his receivers have to carry him.

Sean Payton is out there but I seriously doubt BB ever gets fired. He probably gets to leave on his own terms.

Do you think BB would keep himself if he was making the decision as the team owner?
