This was the best game and complete team win we've seen in the last 2 years.
Sure, the Browns are not the elite, they're extremely streaky without Chubb and having lost OBJ - you could see their letdown.

Either way. We moved the ball with excellent balance, the D brought pressure, and we didn't make any mistakes (Turnovers)

I really hope they don't letdown on a short week to ATL.
Stevenson was excellent. I wonder if they sit Harris another week, and we see if the kid can do it 2x in 4 days.
T. Brown was solid in his first action back - that's super encouraging.

And Mac - he was so sharp, focused, and seemed to see the rush better than the last 2 weeks.

Probably the most satisfying win since Tom left. Dominant in every phase. This looks like a real team with everyone getting on the same page. Still can't believe some people weren't on board drafting Mac Jones - steal of the draft. How the hell we got him at 15 is something the rest of the NFL will be wondering for years.
Belichick the GM saving Belichick the HC's job, it seems.

Stephenson, Barmore, Mac Jones, Kyle Dugger, Matt Judon, Hunter Henry, Bourne, Agholor, the return of Trent Brown (huge difference today), Kyle Van Noy, etc., all making Belichick the GM look pretty good. Build Back Better, Baby.

That because the Pats were too busy rushing for 184 yards. Great defense and a balanced offense is the recipe for success in the NFL. Mac was deadly accurate.

Absolutely right. Run-heavy and heavy-personnel offense is devastating. Play this style all the time, not just 1 week.

I agree. It hit the ground. I was surprised it wasn’t challenged

I looked at it a couple of times in slow motion on my Tivo. He initially bobbles it, but as he is going to the ground he clearly controls it against his chest, and he maintains control as he hits the ground, ending with the ball firmly held against his chest well away from the ground. So he had control both before and after he hit the ground, so I don't think it matters if it moved as it hit the ground.

Mac passer rating: 142.1
Hoyer passer rating: a perfect 158.3

QB controversy?

Kudos to Eliot Wolf and Groh for completely revamping the drafts.

Several teams that needed a QB, passed on Mac. I remember holding my breath during that draft. Carolina & Denver passing on a QB was a little surprising to me, and then I thought a team like Washington or New Orleans might trade up ahead of the Pats to grab a QB.

After the Jets traded up to #14, I felt a little relieved, but was still on edge after years of bad Pat’s draft choices. I literally screamed when the selected him at #15. Happiest I’ve ever been with a Pat’s draft pick.

We may not see a better running offense, and better run defense the rest of the season. I thought we held our own against both. Even better, this is now a tie-breaker win against another team in the WC hunt. Awesome game! Really starting to love this team.
Wild Card, Schmile Card. I want the division

Good win

This Patriots team has performed better than I thought. I'm still reticent to buy in, but the team isn't playing around. They might go ahead and get 11 wins.

This is worthy of its own thread, actually. It was great to see the Patriots picking consensus top-flight players with most of their picks rather than guys who made us go "Who?" "From Where?"

The gem of the last two years is Kyle Dugger from Lenoir Rhyne. He is an excellent safety and really brought the lumber on that kickoff return in the 4th quarter.

They have the running game dialed up and the run defense. They knocked out 3 qbs out of games. Continuing to improve

Oh, and the first time Pats have had 3 TD drives of over 90yds in a game!
And, Brady didn't do it, but MACcurate did!

It wasn't a WR-focused game plan, but I'd like to see them get a bit more involved @ATL.
Bourne was great, including in the run game. But 13 combined targets to WR's, including Hoyer in garbage time.

I'm excited about Dugger !!

Makes last year's class a hit

Well, they should beat the Falcons (who got demolished today) and they finish up with the Jaguars and Dolphins. The schedule would give them a better than even shot at 11 wins, I'd say. The Titans and the Bills games will be rock fights.
