Last night was so not what I was expecting.

We were not ready to play. The defense giving up huge conversions all night was just plain ugly. Guys out of position or could not close gaps ... Ugly.

On the offense, what can you say besides full blown controversy? No life until Zappe sparked them a bit. But what was a strength turned into a weakness with the error prone oline. Jeeezzzzus.

Singularly the worst game of the season. I was disappointed.

There are losses where you're annoyed and angry but still believe.

There are other losses which rock a fan to their core to the point of questioning everything the team is trying to do.

Last night was the latter.
Pains me to write this but the Jets HC Salah is doing a better job this season than Bill. No reason we shouldn’t be following the same blueprint of being a run heavy team minimizing the turnovers playing strong defense.

Ras it's obvious we don't have the personal especially at LB.

My top 2 priority defensive FA next year. Chubb and Roquan. Stop neglecting the front 7 and get some impact players.
They were in on smith when he wanted a trade out Chicago, people forget these teams with great players in thier front 7 have been picking in the 1st round every year.. everyone on D had bad day except that man... judon! McCourty looks slow, Dugger went out.. however we need REAL impact players up front..

Because I watched the games. I saw how simplified they made the offense and how bad the defenses were he played against. He didn’t do nearly enough to show me that he was a viable long term starter.

And yes, when you are drafted in the fourth round, the burden is on you to convince people you are a starting QB. First rounders have the luxury of having to prove to people they are not a starting QB.
Mac has to prove he is worth a starting QB and he hasn't so far

We simply don't have the speed and playmaking up front to deal with athletic QBs.

More concerning is how they didn't respond after 1/2 time

Judon was the only good coming out of this game.
Going to be hard to complete, bottom in our own division, it looked promising 2 weeks ago , last night was a reminder that showed where we really are. These players look confused on what direction the team wants to go, personally let zappe start the remainder of season put mac on IR see what a lo version sample of zappe really is.. anyway we look at it feels like we will back in the running for a true franchise QB..

Would you make a run at Brian burns in Carolina to beef up the line play? I would... Question is what would we have to surrender to get him? Multiple picks I'm thinking...

I thought that was McMillian, mack Wilson were supposed to provide.. what about all those safeties we signed?... seems moot at this point

Bethel Johnson comes to mind...incredibly fast but never made it as a true stud and was gone in 2 years even with the GOAT as his QB..... he may be a future great or be like Bethel
Thornton is much faster than Bethel Johnson. Bethel: 4.42 official electronic timed 40 and 1.55 10 yd split per both draftscout and RAS - TT ran 4.28 and 1.41 - Bethel ran a 4.26 for the Pats weight room records board, but I go by official laser times. Also, couldn't find verified 100m HS track times for him (and I found a few anecdotes that he wasn't that fast in track). TT, although a twig, seems to have it upstairs, his having played some QB in HS, but we'll see when it's all said and done, as he's already damaged goods.

I just posted this in the draft forum, but similarly built to Tyreek is Tre Tucker as a flyer (in multiple senses of the word) from Cincinnati 5'9" 185lbs who will probably be available in the mid to lower rounds if we wanted someone who is theoretically even faster than Thornton.

I actually made that point a few weeks ago on here about burns, we need someone other than judon and wise to wreak havoc, also barmore was out to so that was huge.. I feel someone like alghlor/Bourne along with a 6th for burns could be feasible..

was that bad huh

Glad I dont stay up untill 4am to watch games anymore lol. Remember, this is a Growth season

Huh? The coaching situation is a mess and a clear reason we look like this. we have Patricia a defensive coordinator and Joe judge a failed coach leading our offense. If we still had McDaniels or a real offensive coordinator we would look alot better.

Brian daboll has that same giants team Judge had at 5-1.
absolute winner post but there are too many who don't want to accept this

Mac still doesn't look right, IR him until he's right. Do the right thing and Name a starter, going forward. it's just so hard on us as fans when our Head coach won't communicate other than the bare minimum.. I'd like to get a seasonal view of zappe to really judge him.. we looked like the worst team in the division last night..

No one was complaining about the coaching last week.

The issues are clear.

1. Mac is still hurt and struggling with this offense.
2. The team has a serious talent issue at LB and other areas

That's utter nonsense. The rounds have no bearing. You forgot to mention that Zappe is actually a rookie and Mac is a vet. Rookies need time to develop. He's way ahead of the curve.

How exactly are they going to develop Zappe's height? The Bears have given the blueprint to beat Zappe. Don't rush the guy. Get defenders in the passing lanes and their hands up. The guy is just too short to be an NFL start. The Bears pretty much complete shut Zappe down after those first two drives after they made adjustments to stop him. He had four batted passes on four drives.

We are seeing with Russell Wilson (who is far more talented) now that he is becoming more of a pocket passer than a guy who can extend plays with his feet that short QBs have trouble in the NFL.

I have always said you really cannot judge a young QB until teams start to develop a book on him. That usually takes at least four or five games. Teams are starting to develop the book and the Bears last night wrote chapter one of the book last night.

I am concerned because of Mac Jones' current psyche that the Patriots have no QB now and they will be looking for the franchise QB in the draft next year. I fear Patricia may have undone everything that McDaniels did with Jones and may be on the way to ruin him completely. And I just don't see Zappe as a starting QB.

We are at the bottom of the AFC....
