I don't understand the clock management there. It's like they where playing it safe. Just happy to be down 3 points.

Clock management was exactly what they wanted, if they had made the first down they would have had 40 seconds and 3 timeouts to go ~40 yards. If they didn't get the first (like they didn't) they could run the clock out.

It was textbook clock management
