To be fair I thought he was down at first glance but they typically let those play out. Unless of course we need them to.

They're told to let them play it out because they review turnovers automatically. They should fire the official who blew the whistle.

Blowing the whistle there screwed us like you rarely get truly scored. It's a direct mistake by the refs that cost us an undeniable 6 points.

A missed DPI sucks but it's not a guarantee the receiver would have caught the ball. That was just a flat out fumble ruled dead by an idiot ref.

Now even if we drive and score it's still taking time off of the clock in a game where we're behind.

Make up calls the rest of the game period. You cant overstate how bad that call was.

Problem is the offense cannot score so the fumble may not mean a whole lot.

Just stop. Everyone. Brady isn't the best QB in the league today, but he is NOT in a gigantic decline. HE. HAS. NO. HELP. The guy did not forget how to play football, the people around him simply can't play.

It may be an unpopular opinion and insane but I believe Belichick may be trying to force Brady to be the one to leave. Belichick knows that Kraft will never support cutting or trading Brady, so focusing the roster on defense and making inexplicable moves on offense seems like a way for Belichick to say "Hey, I've been trying to help him!" while undermining the offense at most turns.

Why do we get Sanu, an inside threat, when we need an outside threat? Why wasn't the tight end position upgraded in the offseason or with a trade? Well, it is either incompetence (unlikely for Belichick) or there's an attempt to feign helping the offense with moves like Sanu while doing nothing to help Brady and co.

I'm a fan of a rebuild on offense with or without Brady. Either way, though, I hope it isn't true that intrigue is the reason for the offense falling off a cliff.
