Brady had Sony in the flat for a 10+ yard gain there and instead hospital balled Edelman for at best 4 yards. May not have seen Sony or may not trust him outside of scripted plays.
So one thing I’ve noticed watching football on tv in recent years:
Back in the day, the announcers used to say “... and there’s a flag on the play ... in the backfield.” Or, near the receiver. Or whatever. Giving you some sense of where the flag was thrown and maybe you can take a stab at guessing where the penalty is. And sometimes they’d say “... in the area of holding.” Or whatever. But now it seems like all you get is “flag on the play.” And that’s it until the call is official. I find it annoying. Like they’re trying to build suspense. Maybe it’s just me,
