Let's weigh the balance of probabilities that Luke Falk is Tom Brady versus Zach Mettenberger. 43% of QBs selected in the 6th or 7th round never take an NFL snap.
57% does.
Of course you know this for sure Mr. time traveler.
I'm going against the grain, and gonna say they make them allSo, who's NOT betting that the Pats trade their next pick for two more 7ths?
57% does.
Careful with generalizations...there's a first for EVERYTHING.Name the last successful 6th round quarterback chosen in the draft and the last successful Mike Leach quarterback selected in the draft.
But at pick # 198 in the SIXTH FREAKING ROUND, who cares who’s passed him up ? You’re taking a swing at the fences. How does it hurt to take a chance on a QB who was ridiculously productive in college, especially when it’s such a late pick. This is EXACTLY WHEN you take a chance like this. And sometimes it works out. Even if he’s a serviceable career backup, it’s better than throwing away the pick. Especially at a need position. The guy has been passed on 198 times in 3 days. The Pats have taken a couple of practice squad type LB's over him.
At some point, one would think, that fans might get the idea that he Pats just aren't interested of some of these guys
I also don't think it's a slam dunk that a marginal QB prospect would have been guaranteed a roster spot the way you claim. Hoyer has a lock on #2 and the chance of a #3 QB making the roster who is purely developmental and probably has similar talent than a number of practice squad and waiver wire castoff guys the Pats could pick up in August is pretty slim
I think Tate is a better WR than EBGreen Bay with the best Equanimeous available drafting philosophy
