TBF, the problem is that Belichick apparently has an idiosyncratic notion of drafting "for value," and apparently decided that the key value for 2022 was pure speed above all else.Some fans think they would like Howie here, but he builds his teams from the front back. He spends his high draft picks on offensive and defensive linemen.
Fans here had a conniption fit when BB did the same and took Cole Strange at the end of the first round... most fans don't know what they want or what a team actually needs to be good.
[FWIW, I just checked; Chad Reuter and Daniel Jeremiah both had them taking OG Zion Johnson in their final drafts, who went 17th. The rest of the folks on NFL.com had them taking Devin Lloyd (27) or Quay Walker (23).]
