One of my favorite Pats of recent memory, and was just wondering if he is still helping them with coaching in some capacity? I remember reading a little while back he was helping with the DBs, but haven't heard anything in a long time about him. Anybody with inside knowledge of the Pats practices and coaching staff and the like know if Smith is still affiliated with the Pats?

I thought he went to the Eagles in some sort of coaching internship?

Edit: his wiki page says he went to the Pats in the 2006 offseason (which I believe was last year) and makes no other mention.

Three birds flock back to the nest ...

Eagles training camp welcomes back three retired Eagles alumni as intern coaches: CB Otis Smith (1991-1994), LB Mike Caldwell (1998-2001), and WR Charles Johnson (1999-2000).

Originally a rookie free agent signee of the Eagles in 1991, Otis Smith played four seasons for the Birds before leaving to join the New York Jets in 1995. During his 15-year-career, he played on four teams, and appeared in two Super Bowls as a member of the New England Patriots (1997 and 2002). A key contributor on New England's 2002 championship team, Smith intercepted a Kurt Warner pass, setting up a field goal against the St. Louis Rams.

Didn't realize he was a rookie free agent, he did quite well for himself from that starting point.
