And, he's still a fat folker

If you read his book "No Excuses" he gives a pretty surreal account of that whole situation. He even had his last rights read to him.

Also noteworthy was Tom Brady's very mature role in helping the family and Maura in particular deal with that dreadful time in the hospital.

Tom showed up for what he thought would be a quick mornings visit and pretty much stayed all week - once he realized the severity of the situation. He offered support and friendship to the entire family.

I just finished the book - not a bad read. Charlie Weiss is a very centered, driven, successful, admirable person and family man. I learned a lot from him. Would love to see him succeed BB in about 10 years after he fulfills his ND obligations (and he will stay there for a while, no doubt).

The book gave some insight, but of all of the Pats books I thought it was the most poorly written. I had hoped for some insight into how they looked at opposing teams and how they develop game plans, but did little of that. Seemed to be written on a Jr. High Level.. did not grab me like Halberstam, Holley or Pierce did. The stuff about his surgery and the role of #12 was telling, though.
