Patriots officially announce the acquisition of WR Deion Branch in a trade. To make room on the roster, OL Nick Kaczur is placed on IR.

too bad.

My experience has been it is very tricky to predict how a back injury is going to recover/behave
Might be best to shut it down and let things heal.


In theory they get Mankins back in week 11.

This is the roster spot for Branch who just passed his physical and will practice today. Not sure if they ever held out much hope considering there were lots of other moves they could have made it they still thought Kaczur's return was remotely possible...

All reports are that Mankins will return for week 10. We just need Connelly to hold up for 5 more weeks. We're a little thin over the next 5 weeks, but Kaczur wouldn't have helped in that time anyway.

They suck big time, and they come back later in life to remind you that they are still around.
