Nice (non-technical) debunking of the "but it reduced fumbles!" garbage

Good article. Amazing though - A team with the GOAT QB who has missed one season in 15 years dosent fumble a lot. My God! What a revelation. Almost as impressive as a team with the GOAT head coach who constantly harps on ball security and has a rep for benching players who fumble - wouldn't have a team that fumbles a lot.

The things we are learning today.

Good that the myth has been debunked. But you have to realize one thing. The fumble reduction angle is a 'strawman' used by envious fans who want to find a way to point at the Pats as Cheaters, but can clearly see there's not solid evidence of actual tampering in the Wells report.

The strawman technique is often used by those who can't defeat the actual argument, so instead choose to beat a weaker 'distorted' argument to say, see I win, this proves the Patriots cheated!

The Strawman logical fallacy:

My usual argument with the numbers were: "Take the Patriots out of the fumbling situation, and what does it say? That teams with high passing volume fumble less?"
