The NFL is stuck on the logic of jealousy. And Im not talking about the Patriots here only as the 1. Whenever something goes down, the other 31 teams want the 1 injured. And with this logic, the NFL is going to continue to have ridiculous blow-ups like this. The only way to stop this is with a commish like Tagliabue, a guy who isn't a coward.
Now, I'm such a petty and vindictive person that, if I were Kraft, I'd have those bozos at the NFL offices running around investigating complaints I filed each and every week.
First road cold weather game? The balls are soft, I'd say. Take a measurement out here.
If I'm the Patriots equip guys, I heat up the ball and inflate to 12.5 just seconds before I hand it to the refs. Let them set it to 12.5 and watch it drop to 10.5
The logic of 31 to 1 invites mayhem, and as long as Goodell is at the helm, it gives you a competitive advantage (i.e. the Colts can't beat the Patriots, so they are always using league rules and offices to try to equal the battlefield) to take advantage of Goodell's weakness so that you lose fewer football games.
Simple as that.
Teams are encouraged to start trouble, and if owners are as weak and cowardly as Goodell (ahem, ahem) then their teams will suffer from this nonsense.
