NFL TEAM caught switching balls and was punished

Do the refs really use those rubber stamps?

Interesting, any mention of which team it was?

No. I for one never hard of this before Part-time Paycheck & Full-time Scrutiny

You would think that a $1M fine, draft picks lost and a QB or kicker being suspended would have made news too

Article is from Sep 2007, so you would think they were talking about a 2006 season game. And in that timeframe, of course, the cheating-investigation focus was all about cameras, but not those held by folks in lime green vests or ones that took audio-video of future GOAT qbs.

We know one thing for sure, it definitely wasn't the Patriots.

This article came out on 9/23/2007, 10 days after Goodell announced the spygate punishments. No one in the media or public thought this was a big deal. The league never mentioned it during the Brady hearing because it would fly in the face of Goodell's repeated claims that all rules are enforced equally. I hope Kessler sees this. It would be interesting to find out who the team was, what the punishment was and why it wasn't enforced the same way with New England.

Maybe Kraft should ask his former best friend about this and why his team was treated differently.

Send this **** to Florio asap. He's the only one doing actual journalism on this stuff the rest are just soaking up the easy mode views by writing WELL MAYBE THE PATRIOTS type bs.

Hearing it was a team that is in denial that they reside in New Jersey and they were punished by being force to draft a certain USC quarterback. More to come.

It wasn't Jay Feely and the Jets, that happened in 2009.

We're smart enough to figure this out. What quarterback in the NFL would no one miss if he were quietly suspended for four games for being generally aware that it is more probable than not that his balls were switched?

Sam Bradford's been MIA for four weeks. The Eagles perhaps?

If this is true, it could actually be a big deal... that establishes precedence.

Kraft took the hit. Can only help Brady if by some miracle NFL wins appeal. Helps with narrative was all BS though. Kraft IMO was protecting his unicorn Draft Kings at the expense of the Patriots and its fans. Draft Kings at that time was about to dump massive $ in advertising to try and get a valuation in excess of $10B. Unicorn (finance) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
