Yeah, I'll agree with this. I would expect a lot of coach-speak and Mayo-isms that do not fall far from the Belichick Speech tree. I don't think he's ever going to be a dour grump who grunts answers, but I am sure he sees the value of less is more with the media.
Agreed. That was doable when you win, when you don't the act gets old quickly. Ownership has to appease sponsor's, fans, season ticket holders. Mayo's the perfect guy for media relations. It's an important aspect when you're running any type of business.

Funny thing is they managed to spin BBs grumpy persona into a merchandise line. Obviously success helped that. I'd be surprised if the kumbaya philosophy sells the same way.

They did. Your right. Due largely in part becuase we won at a high level. You have to have success In order to be marketable. In no way can Bill ever be diminished at all!! But wethere he left on his own or a parting there was going to be imminent Change regardless. I believe as I said in my post mayo as a coach will be more Bill like than people may believe.

I agree with @Real fan 02, if they win A LOT, all the resultant Mayo-isms will become marketable.

I'm not so sure about that. If they win they'll have plenty to sell but Grumpy Bill took on a life of its own and I'm not so sure the general public cares as much about some kumbaya stuff. Not fair to cross sports but Umbutu never sold the same way for the Celtics.

NFL > NBA. By a lot.

Just a random thought that hasn't been discussed (or at least I o to my knowledge), anyone watching the UFL to see if there are any guys worth a camp invite, like a LT perhaps, or edge, or TE??? You got to think that a dozen or so of them are getting invites. I would be happy to see at least one in camp/

BTW- I LOVED the signing of that 6'7 320lb English kid the Jets signed. Shot in the dark, but its the kind of pick that the 7th round is for. The Eagles found THEIR LT overseas

Slightly OT, but I thought it was interesting seeing how much Rodgers has regressed in his processing, timing & accuracy; given that this is the first time we’ll see him in our division this upcoming season.
