NFL names Jon Runyan VP of Policy and Rules Administration

He'll be in charge of on field disciplinary matters. NFL must have screwed up, he's not a former Jet....
Former Congressman from NJ, generally considered a stand up guy. Wonder what will happen now that he's employed by that cesspool.....

"In NFL Football Operations, Runyan will oversee club and game-related initiatives related to players. He will serve as Commissioner Roger Goodell's designee for on-field discipline as agreed upon by the NFL and NFLPA in Article 46 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and also supervise the Uniform and Protective Equipment Inspection Program."

Was this Kensil's old role or Merton Hanks's old role? Odd.

Or, did they just change the name of the title?

Who could possibly be fairer to the Pats than a former Congressman from New Jersey?

Don't forget that he's a former Philadelphia Eagle and was on the team that lost to the Pats in the SB..

Yes. Runyan was a good player, but Vincent is corrupt, as we know. This is not good.

Apparently from what I hear in Philly this dude was a total ***hole off the field even with his talent and size. So, he fits the NFL FO perfectly actually.

I've heard the same thing. Cheap shot artist on it.

Florio agrees with you guys, calls it the fox running the henhouse:

With Jon Runyan running rules department, the fox is running the henhouse

Runyan quit the HoR because of the following....

Looks like he going right back to it.
But my frustrations with the ways of Washington have been well-documented. Of course, the things that have bothered me most — the petty ambitions and the misplaced priorities — have frustrated many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Believe it or not, there are members of Congress who actually want to govern and get stuff done. Unfortunately, there are others whose agendas and strategies serve to advance their own interests and expand their donor base.

Runyan made Rodney look Ghostkowski types of clean so his being in this role is rich.

Lol hope he's better at this than he was at blocking Strahan..

I graciously accept this position to uphold integrity on all accounts. Tom Brady did it. Thank you.

Good hire by Fraudger. Runyon is no shrinking violet and will likely be visible, vocal, and a new target for players to aim at allowing Fraudell to focus more attention on his sting operations and media manipulation. With ESPN axing just about everyone, new useful mediots must be recruited and trained. I'm sure his best buddy Bobby K will give him all the support he needs

He was concidered one of the dirtiest players in the league when he played and now he's the league's chief rule enforcer. Oh, the irony

Somebody please e-mail him the ideal gas law PV=nRT.

It takes one to know one.. Runyan knows how to break the rules..

Difficult to believe anyone coming out of Philadelphia can be "fair"....
