They must keep Elvis, if only to ensure continued participation here by
@Actual Pats Fan. But please not that giant shoulder thing ever again.
I like the sleeve stripes that a lot of teams use with the modern jersey “template.” I think it’s the template that prevents them from having proper shoulder stripes and the result is lousy IMO.
I hope they keep the silver pants with the blue jersey, can go either way regarding the shade of blue, like the idea of the red pants, and the Pat Patriot throwback with sleeve stripes in the early 1970s motif.
It's impossible to overstate how terrible the Patriots' uniforms have been since 1993, aside from 'throwbacks' which should have been kept as regular.
Patriots are in the majority of pro sports teams, who are short sighted and go out of their way to have no class, crap all over their own rich history and real fans, and look like total losers. Subsequently winning titles only makes it worse and sadder.
Just a few left in the NFL who dress to win: Cowboys, Colts, Raiders, Chiefs, Giants, Bears, Steelers (except for those really silly jersey number fonts - no, they should not match the helmet number...whoever came up with that garbage has the same nonmentality as Orthwein saying we looked like Redcoats - idiocy), Green Bay & the 49ers. Cleveland, Buffalo and the Chargers often get it right.
That's it. Everybody else looks like sh*t, after ruining themselves.
People who like the replacements are a diverse lot. I wonder exactly how many Americans would have no problem with replacing the American flag with something obviously miserable, insulting, embarrassing and ugly, especially compared with what it replaced. They would have to be completely oblivious to aesthetics, history including all who fought and died for this country under it, and any appearance of self respect or admirability.
The Patriots are special, and different, in that the franchise has been subjected to incomparable denigration and disparagement led by its own local media for decades.
Imagine if after buying out John Y. Brown, Harry Mangurian destroyed the Celtics' logo. Assuming Red still stayed, Larry Bird would have spent his entire career looking stupid. Like Tom Brady.
