There's plenty of opportunity to call someone on a dumb or misinformed comment by posting a reply in the thread containing said dumb or misinformed comment. I've been called on a couple myself (and appreciated it when i was wrong--which, of course, i seldom am ). I have also done my share of calling others out in threads and regard both being called out and calling others out as part of the game here, fair and square.

But the Sigs ridiculing dumb or misinformed comments on a daily basis always felt to me to be contrary to the spirit of community and dialogue/disagreement out here, as Ian observed.

However, as far as I'm concerned, there's no need to get into the motivations or circumstances of individual sigs; nor, IMHO, do those who used them have to defend themselves. Time to move on and...

...good move, Ian

Now, let's get ready for some kick-ass Patriots Football and take this friggin' board to Miami!

Man im gonna miss seeing "Mark my words, when its all said and done ,Gutz will have had a better career than Matty Cassel..." but good policy none the less...brings more maturity overall to the forum...

That one should be grandfathered...he said ''mark my words'' after all !

I'm not talking about quoting them in your responses, nor do I have a problem with you using a quote in your signature. I'm talking about using a quote by another member from here in the forum in your signatures in an effort to obviously make fun of something they said.
I know, I'm sorry. Sometimes I try to be funny and end up just being a punk.

Everyone here has made statements that, in hindsight, don't hold up well to scrutiny.
You mean like when I was furious about giving up a first round pick for the donkey Jet Belichick? Of course, Belicheck didn't impress me by going after that Georgia tackle with the poor work ethic when David Terrell was available. But at least the next year he signed the guy I thought would make the Patriots offense soar...Donald Hayes. Luckily that was all before I joined Patsfans, so none of you need ever know.

Man, yeah, I don't even want to think back to some of the things that I've said that, in hindsight, were just dumb. For starters, I wasn't a huge fan of the Welker trade, and I was pissed when we let Vinatieri and McGinest go (although the McGinest thing was mostly about emotional attachment- he was obviously on the downside)...

If anyone wants to take any quotes of mine and sig them, I'm fine with it. If I'm going to go out on a limb and proclaim something, then I don't have any problem with people holding me accountable for it
