Both Herron and RB Ralph Webb participated in the Shrine Game this year, along with a couple of kickers with whom the Pats later had private workouts.

In the past, the Pats have scouted the Shrine Game practice sessions pretty thoroughly, with Pats scouts having formal interviews with many of the participants. It's a bit disappointing to me that the media folks who follow the Pats pre-draft prospect contacts no longer appear to bother reporting on the Pats interactions with prospects at the Shrine Game - or even the Senior Bowl - as they once did. Knowing about those contacts could help the fans make better sense of some of the "head-scratcher" personnel moves.
