My biggest problem is our biggest need (pass rusher) is the most unpredictable group in the draft as most would be changing positions for us and Bill has never drafted a pass rushing OLB in the first round so it's tough sledding to come up with a good list.

Very difficult for me also. And when you consider I was high on Jeremy Beal way back when ugh, then you'll understand I've got more homework to do.

It's why I look at an energizer bunny like Kerrigan and say "IF" NE were to consider an OLB conversion in round one, he's got the Purdue pedigree and the overachiever label to think he would work at it.

I have him as a top 5 intangibles Pats prospect. Can't seem to even pencil him in at #17. :confused2:

I think it more likely they shop DEs early and taking OLB pot luck late.

Good job. Hard work and but not my cup of tea. I would be depressed if this was our take. Have to go with Box on this. Kerrigan makes sense. #17 is too early for Heyward although I would not be upset if we would Draft him. Perhaps #17 Kerrigan and #28 Heyward.

I have to say I am a little apprehensive about what BB will do. He collects picks for flexibility and he's got a Draft in his wheelhouse and he trades out? Hope not. That is why you have accumulated picks for this year.

You Cousins can decide if you want the orange or grape Koolaid. I am not buying why we trade out our first six picks this year unless we are going up. For all general purposes this is a very weak Draft with little depth. It might be as bad as 06. But the roster spots we can fill happen to be in this years class. If he trades out I would stand up and question it. BB has not hit a home run doing this every time up. Only last year was decent.

Houston has an extremely iffy motor. Disappearing for stretches. Felger and the media boys ran Moss our of town because of that. Houston is a third round value to me. Bowling is another mediocre G. Doesn't make sense that high at even 4.

Why do you have the Pats taking another smurf WR in Jerrigan? Not one WR on the roster over 5'11" doesn't work in this NFL. If he starts you have three 5'8" WR. Not a good thing. Doesn't make sense that high.

Hudson is not a fit with our O Line type. Way too short and light. I don't understand that pick.

Vareen is a taller Danny Woodhead. Can't we get a better RB option? We already have Vareen.

Rudolf seems like a waste this high. I agree with Grid and go Lee Smith later. Very little difference.

I really like the Hayward, Vereen and Boling picks, but the pick I really love is Rodney Hudson. I know he is undersized, but he is the most decorated O-Lineman in ACC history, and I believe he is the most talented O-Lineman in this draft. Here's a few stats to show how good this guy really is.

- 47 Career starts
- 4 Time All ACC (3 times First Team)
- 3 Time All American
- Finalist for the Outland Trophy 2010
- 2 Time Winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy
- ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week 8 times in his career (T-most in league history)
- Only been flagged for 4 career penalties
- Only allowed 1.5 Career Sacks
- Didn't give up a sack or QB pressure in final 2 seasons
- Missed only 21 assignments in career (roughly 1 per 150 snaps)
- Had a streak of 20 consecutive games without a penalty (1024 snaps)
- Hasn't allowed a sack since October 25, 2008 (Virginia Tech)
- His only other sack was in his first start as a true freshman against Clemson (9/3/07)

He was also very impressive in the Senior Bowl:
- Played 40 snaps
- 32 individual matchups
- Won 30 of 32 individual matchups
- Lost 2 of 32 (neither resulted in a tackle)

This is a guy that is being overlooked by most because of his size, but in reality he is just a really good football player. He is a great fit for the Pats blocking scheme, and is one of the most technical blocker you will ever find. I know a lot of people don't like his size, but he has almost identical measurements to Dan Koppen. I think he has the potential to be an All-Pro Center and I would take him as high as 33, although I think we can get him at 60.

Cousin I respect your call on this but Hudson does not fit our scheme. He is a Broncos type finesse zone block kid. Use the best model of Mankins and Volmer. Big and physical. Our biggest weak link in our O Line was Koppen who allowed six sacks. Why would BB consider a C that is undersized like Koppen. I can honestly say that Hudson would be the one player in this entire Draft that I would be shocked if we picked.

Very good intel on the kid. Hard work. I am afraid I am not a buyer.

I don't like that in the college games I watched with him, he was getting bull rushed backwards into the QB's face. I could see the technique and tenacity, but I don't see where he can add the mass or maintain his agility and movement skills to be a consistent starter for NE. The guy truly looked like a butterball on toothpicks at the Combine at 299, all top hamper and no ballast. I think a late round flier on a Tim Barnes or Brandon Fusco gets NE an athletic interior OL for Scar to groom.

Depth of Talent is vital to the Championship Quest, and incredibly cheap to acquire. I've found it persistently astonishing how many fans fail to see the need for quality depth throughout the roster, especially considering how fatal injuries have been to many recent seasons.

I've made pulling in a second Slasher ~ to team with Danny WoodHead ~ an integral part of my Mock Drafts from Day 1. I cannot imagine doing otherwise.

FWIW on the "All Gone At 17" thread I listed this group. It's a little heavy on the OL but assuming Mankins plays out his last year then leaves it would fix the OL long term and hit some other holes too. I really like Williams and I think this is slightly low to get him but I put him here anyway.

Yes, I'm all over the place this time of year.

Would fix the OL for the foreseeable future, strengthen the front seven and get a nice RB to go with Benny.
