My hope is to have King and Branch under contract.

I expect the rest to either be gone or going out to find out what they are worth.

Bolden is also someone who might be signed before the deadline.

The thought of losing hightower boggles my mind. Losing all these guys on defense. Ughhh. These guys you just can't replace. All that experience.

My hope for tomorrow is the resigning of branch, blount and an outside free agent wr with speed! (Torrey from San Fran maybe)

My gut tells me that bb has realized that when teams tag a player, it has a high probability of leading to hurt feelings and a fractured work environment. So bb is having Hightower test the market and come back with the best offer to give bb a final chance to best it.

And while we may have to pay more than we ever thought, I am cautiously somewhat maybe kind of hopeful that bb beats that best offer and resigns Hightower.

Ugh no on Blount. With all due respect we can absolutely upgrade over him.

My hope tomorrow is to bring back Hightower or Franchise tag him for this year, then sign Branch.

Besides the obvious in Hightower and Ryan, I'd love to see Harmon back. It has been pointed out many times that nickel and dime packages are the new "base" defenses, since teams use more than four defensive backs backs well over half the time. Harmon is a good player and hopefully won't get an absurd offer like Ryan (my guess anyway.)

Pats get +6.5 mil in cap space by just cutting Amendola. I'm going to be disappointed if they aren't aggressive in FA tomorrow, they have a crapload of cap space. There's no excuse.

They are rarely aggressive on day one, unless it is their own players re-signing.

HT and his agent should have a pretty good idea of what his market is like by now. I expect him to either resign with NE or with another team sooner rather than later.

There's very much an excuse to not toss out stupid money. We won't have $60 million in cap space every year. We can't sign a DE for $10 million per season just because we can afford it now, then expect an equal player a year or two from now to sign for $4-5 million when money is tighter.

We've kept fantastic depth over the years because we don't overvalue players and we don't overspend. That goes away quickly once agents see you dishing out big money.

Get ready to be disappointed. Also they don't have to excuse anything especially not being one of the moron teams that goes for signings because "they have the cap space".

Stay the course, stick with your evaluations and let people go that are valued higher than you are comfortable at a different place.

You can't tag him, that window has passed. I'm hoping it's a McCourty situation, we will see?

I'm hoping for Branch to re-sign, then Hightower. After that Gillislee would be a good addition to the backfield. If they can get Harmon back then that's about as much as I could expect from their free agents.

BB was in Nashville yesterday too.

Edit: I realise you might be aware of this but the article was suggesting it was perhaps because Tennesse were interested in HT.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.
Bring him home Bill.

I don't want them blowing money in a lousy free agent market.
