Sup my peeps. I finally went to my first live football game( because I never cared to sit outside in cool weather and good pats tickets aren't the easiest to get). Anyhow it was the Jets vs Washington(should've been Pats lol), I had suite tickets with free buffet(delicious) including unlimited beer and drinks free. Ironically the Jets fans I met were pretty cool after finding out I was a pats fan( my wife's cousin spilled on me lol). I have to admit that I trolled them on the way out by waving my Patriots magnet to people in the parking lots and passing cars, I reassured them that there time is coming but not anytime soon. Needless to say I received a few eff you's and some flipped me the bird and mentioned that it's them and not us that will win the afc east. In closing I ask has anyone else went to another teams game for there first experience and how weird did you feel? BTW the tickets were free compliments of my wifes cousin.

I have family in upstate NY so sometimes i make the trek to Buffalo and see us spank them. They have some of the best fans, but i feel bad for them since they start drinking too early and by the 4th the game is a blowout and they are all thoroughly depressed (about the Bills and the fact that they have to live in Buffalo). Jokes aside, it's a great atmosphere.

My favorite place as a road fan is New Orleans. They really make game day a huge open party and everyone is just so happy that you are there visiting the city.

Thanks for the insight Salem. It's nice to know you can visit other teams stadiums and do a little trash talking in good taste without there fans taking it to far. And I agree it must suck living in buffalo

I hear that about New Orleans, and their fans were great here. One of the reasons I've got a soft spot for Saints...well, and they got hosed by the NFL too.

At first, I thought you meant Jest-Pats, but eeeeesh...make the next one a game in Foxboro, you won't regret it.

Didn't make it to a game there but I agree about NOLA. Great people there. Saints fans are pretty cool specifically.

My first live game was the Pats vs Jets. My friend was looking to buy a mini-van in the states. Even with the airplane trip, exchange rate difference and custom duties, it was still cheaper to buy the van in the states then in Canada. Not thinking too much about it, we had decided to fly down, rent a car and find a place to stay. Unfortunately, going through security at the airport, they took a dim view that I didn't have a specific address I was going too. I almost didn't make it on the airplane but was finally able to sweet talk my way onto the plane. My friend wasn't so lucky. My friend lives in another province 5 hours away from where I live and he was flying out of a different airport. They wouldn't let him through security. He got a hold of his wife and she was able to make a reservation at a hotel in Newark in time for him to make it onto the airplane. We both finally arrived at the Newark airport and rented a car and drove to our hotel.

The day of the game we drove to the train station and caught the train that took us directly to the game. It was a great game but the Pats lost. There were plenty of Patriots in attendence. It was kind of neat to see Fireman Ed in action leading the Jets cheer after hearing about him in the forums. There was some good natured heckling around us when they noticed we were Pats fans. Overall it was a fun experience. As we were leaving the game to catch the train back there was a fight at the entrance we were leaving. Some drunk Jets fan made some remark to a woman that was wearing some Pats gear. I don't know what was said but she beat the crap out of him.

Overall it was a good experience, the next day we toured NY and took the subway to catch a Braves vs Mets baseball game. What a difference in atmosphere. The Jets game was mostly adults with the whole stadium rocking with noise to a sold-out audience. The baseball game was a snoozer. About a quarter full with families with kids that were more interested in eating then watching the game.

I loved NY and the people. Driving was a nightmare so we took trains and subways to most destinations. My friend finally bought the Van and we drove it back to Canada. My friend and I are trying to take in a game in Foxboro but so far have been unable to find the time and money to do so.
