It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The award is what the voters wants it to be.If the voters believe the award is Most valuable player it will be Maye winning it and he should. If they think it’s something else it will go to Stafford.
100%I can absolutely see a lifetime achievement bias giving it to Stafford BUT to me, Maye is clear cut MVP.
Terry Bradshaw said it earlier. Maye hasnt had a bad game.Maye should be MVP but they’re literally just giving it to the vet who has more TDs. Maye is better in pretty much everything else.
Not every.100%
It will be an outlandish, historical swerve to not have Maye win it when every other season comparable to it ended with an MVP award.
I was thinking more along the lines of the 2nd year guys. Marino, Mahomes, Lamar, etc.Not every.
Brady finishd 3rd with a comparable season in 2012.
The Patriots had an offensive explosion, one of the top 5 offenses in NFL history. They scored 26 rushing TDs despite not having one of the leagues top backs or a top running game.
4 of those rushing TDs were by Brady.
How in the world did Aaron Rodgers finish ahead of Brady in the MVP voting?
Rodgers: 4295 yds, 39 tds, 8 INTs, 71 QBR, Packers had 7 rushing TDs all year
Brady: 4827 yds, 34 tds, 8 INTs, 78 QBR, Patriots had 26 rushing TDs, 4 by Brady
Yet Brady finished behind Rodgers in the MVP voting
And if you dive deep into those "tougher schedule" claims (as I and others did in this thread), Stafford played against slightly tougher overall D (based on total yardage), and Maye played against slightly tougher passing Ds. So really if you take any time to analyze it, it's a wash. But I think it’s funny hearing all about Stafford’s extremely difficult schedule and then down the stretch Stafford lights up absolute garbage teams while losing two games and now the opponent doesn’t seem to matter.
It's wild because before today Maye was the favourite, and then today Maye outperformed Stafford in rating, and was so far ahead he sat the 4th quarter, while Stat Padford was struggling to put away Maye's former backupStafford now the odds on favorite to win MVP per fanduel and draft kings.
Brady shoulda had 3+I was thinking more along the lines of the 2nd year guys. Marino, Mahomes, Lamar, etc.
Brady finished 1st or 2nd nine times.....!! Dont know how many top 5 finishes he has.
Brady has def lost some close ones.
