Weird that we're keeping Barker over Cave. I thought Cave was supposed to be decent and Barker was fringe PS material.

Hopefully it won't matter and the OL won't suffer any injuries.

That is what of our posters suggested.

Reiss, on the other hand, suggested that it was Barker who is the emergency backup for Svitek this weekend (he said so yesterday).

I suggest that they are both Practuce Squad material, but Barker is more ready to play guard this Sunday.

The team that wanted a TE thought that the FB was a better option than the TE they brought in. Given that TE's NFL history, it likely says a lot more about how bad Mulligan is than it says about Develin, who's not exactly Pro Bowl material himself.

Because Mulligan didn't work out = he sucks? And because Mulligan replaced Develin, Develin = he sucks X 2?? I suppose in a vacuum that is an equation that may hold true. However, given the complexities of how BB builds a roster each week (especially week 1 prep), it's a bit unfair to assume Develin Sucks at a Mulligan X 2 rate.
Develin showed some ability in camp. It appears he has worked as hard as anyone to make the team. I think he may provide extra 'attitude' to a running game that wants to establish its 'attitude'. If he is actually active and get's any reps (in doubt), let's give the guy a chance and see what he can do.....

Why the vitriol towards trying to reach the highest level.

Some of us would have loved to get even close the where a scrub in the NFL is athletically.

I realize it's just business, and I wanted Mulligan like a bad rash, but its almost inhumane to open the door to a man's dreams then slam it in his face. I am also reminded of guys like Troy Brown who kept banging on that door, smashed it in and didn't stop until his number hung in the Patriot Hall of Fame. Godspeed to all these guys fighting for the last spot.

It's a comparative thing, not an absolute.

I doubt too many people are so deluded that they truly believe their stint as a backup HS kicker really does qualify them to be talking literally when they say things like "I could do better than that guy", either, FWIW.


And Mulligan still sucks.
