Um, Pioli?

i voted "something else". Mine would be not extending Big Vince. I would hope that he gets extended and stays a Patriot for a while. It is hard to find a good NT and we have the best IMO.

Um, Pioli?

Duh on my part,VERY good to mention that - I missed adding that one - Bet that is the tops as well but we shall see -can you edit a poll without mod assistance?

1. Pioli
2. Peppers

I'd say the failure to sign Big Vince and the looming spectre of yet another star player sitting out time when he should be with the team. I know it's part of the game and it happens all the time, but I hate when players threaten to shoot their way out of town because sometimes (Deion Branch) it can happen, and then it ruins things when it counts. the second thing would be the trading of Vrabel, because I really like him as a player, but there is probably a good football reason for doing it.

I think extensions are significantly complicated by the CBA context.

I think the biggest disappointment has been the inability to address the OLB situation. The Patriots lost Vrabel and added nothing new. Specifically I voted Taylor, but it's a bit broader. The Patriots pass rush has been a weakness. The Patriots were unable to convince Taylor to come to New England. They passed on all the pass-rushing specialists in the draft.

This is a pretty potent team, with one obvious weakness on paper. Too bad that it hasn't been addressed yet.

No "I'm not disappointed, its June" option?

Second that

Nope - that is not an option,Even the biggest Patriots homer would find at least one little dissapointing thing so far in a less than perfect offseason, but then again there are no perfect offseasons for any team in the NFL

losing pioli. we have no idea how peppers and/or taylor would have worked out. the player and coach bench is deep enough to survive the losses of Vrabel and Josh. But, Pioli was unique and that's a big loss.

I'll go with Pioli too. I have to think that the keys to the decade's success are, in order :

BB
Brady
Pioli
Troy Brown (a distant 4th)
the rest

Ummm... A guy named Adam Vinatieri says hi - Without Adam's kicks, especially in the snow bowl game,we are likely talking about AT LEAST one less super bowl,Lets not be disrespectful of his acheivements here and what he meant to this team for all those SB wins just because he wanted more money and is now a Colt - He WAS a big part of this decades success and we would almost definately not have 3 SB wins without his clutchness at the right time.

Yeah - but I guess it's a different category of disapointment... its kind of tough to fault a guy from accepting a promotion... it would be like saying "I'm disapointed that we lost Matt Cassel as our backup QB" - I'd prefer Pioli remain here but since I didn't have an expectation he'd always remain here in that role, it's tough to say I'm disappointed.

I went with Jason Taylor - I WAS expecting that he'd be here in a backup/role player capacity - so I was more disappointed when it didn't happen.

When I looked at the contract numbes on Vrabel, I wasn't surprised that he was traded - unless he was willing to take a pay cut here that was the better alternative than cutting him and letting him latch on with the Jets or Miami

Wow... good call. Totally forgot ! OBVIOUSLY, Vinatieri fits in BEFORE even Pioli. The point, though, was that in this age of free agency and salary caps, I personally value front office personnel ahead of most every player (with the listed exceptions, I guess).

Wow... ya : Adam is on the short list, FOR SURE. It's been years, and I still can't believe the snow game kick. Sure, the tuck rule... but it's all for nothing without Adam.

Tyrone McKenzie out for the season is a bummer.

Out of everything else on that list, I voted the departure of McDaniels. I knew before the offseason began that he was a goner anyway, but it still sucks to see an offensive mind like that leave the team.

However, I don't expect the offense to be in decline this year because of that.
