The joy of monday night seems so long ago. The funniest post I saw all week was right after the announcement, someone thanked the Patriots for allowing them to enjoy that great win for all of 12 hours before pissing in their Cheerios.
Anyway....I'm with Roussea ... I'm looking forward to the new era. In another year or two, it is likely that Brady and Wilfork will be the only link to the SB teams of 2001-2004. The new era will see rookies and young players being pressed into action a lot faster than in the past, when a deep roster prevented this from happening. Belichick's coaching skills are well established....HOF for sure. But the next few years will help define Belichick as a talent evaluator as well. There have been a couple of questionable drafts in recent history...it is looking like 2009 and 2010 could reverse that trend. With the Patriots once again stocked for future drafts (you have to assume that the Pats will once again look parlay picks into next year, 2012), can Brady and Belichick win with no hold overs from previous regimes? With BB's hand picked players, and home growned coaching staff? T'will be fun to watch.
