Re: Morning Huddle 10/4 - Big Changes Coming This Weekend, Bledsoe on the Greatest QB

No surprise to me that Lurch thinks Manning is the best QB ever, as they have the same order of priorities:

1. Money

2. Winning

Coming up short in the playoffs year in, year out, throwing brain-dead interceptions, piling up meaningless albeit gaudy stats ... yup, they have a lot in common, for sure. I'd imagine the only detriment to Peyton from Drew's point of view is Manning's insistence on doing all that yucky work on his game in the offseason. Evidently Peyton doesn't understand what Lurch did about the higher priorities, such as mosh pit jumping practice, winemaking, and lecturing other people about parenting (OK, that goes over the line, I actually kind of admire Bledsoe for that), which always needed to take precedence over his actual profession.

Poor Drew. He's come back to the fold in recent years, but there's just one little part of him that can't admit that Brady is better than him, or Peyton for that matter.

On a lighter note, I hope that Vince Wilfork spent more than 20 minutes with Vellano in training camp going over technique! (I know that's probably not what she meant, but that's what the article said). It will be very interesting on Sunday to see if Vellano can step up. He did well against Atlanta (a sack even), but they didn't try to run the ball down his throat.

Re: Morning Huddle 10/4 - Big Changes Coming This Weekend; Bledsoe on Greatest QB Eve

Based on his own choices about how he played and how he has conducted his life, I'm surprised Drew's ideal QB isn't Brett Favre.

That said, Bledsoe was a highly skilled athlete who displayed plenty of physical courage, and whose personal or professional choices were never more than a little bit out of line. So let's wish him continued happiness in his life and move on.
