Welker Back To New England Imminent

Contract talks have increased over the past hour with free agent WR Wes Welker and the New England Patriots. Announcement expected soon.

Normally I'd pick better sources but whomever mans that site has been on so far with things way before anyone else so take it for what's it worth. What I don't get is how it goes from talks have increased to announcement soon that sounds like a done deal not still negotiating.

Perfect example of what they do. Multiple legitimate sources have said that Welker is more than likely staying in New England. Free agency opens tomorrow. If they're going to make a deal, then sometime today makes the most sense. If it happens, they look great. If they're wrong, they blame it on some kind of last minute hold-up.

If we sign him tonight does that mean we can turn around and trade him for a first, a seventh and a next years mid-range pick to Minnesota?

I only say this out of the hope it will make Ivans head explode..

Great news. I lost count of how many times Id watch Welker pick up a crucial first down and I thought to myself: Just pay the man.

Unfortunately since it's not an official source and there have been numerous "reports" that have been wrong from that site, I'm going to close this thread for the sake of not creating any confusion with users who come here and believe it to be credible.
