Mike ditka really going after the pats today

Yeah, that was Skip Bayless, utter moron.

I would love to know how Ellis Hobbs doing a silly dance turned into a referendum on BB. You'd think BB was the one out there doing a jig. And it is mindboggling that these idiots aren't pointing out the fact that these dumb dances are not classy in the first place. Wouldn't that make Marty classless for letting Merriman do it?

The idiocy makes me want to puke.

Hey Mike, when you were with New Orleans and traded your entire draft just for the right to draft Ricky Williams, who had more marijuana in his system--you or Ricky Williams?

A lot of those "stops" were killed by easy passes that were dropped. I counted 7 drops that were nothing more than lack of execution on the Chargers' part. There were a couple caused by NE defenders. And yes, I think LT should have had the ball in his hands on our second to last drive. Can't believe PR thought it was a good idea to throw to Parker again.

Rivers had a couple of bad decisions, but I thought the NE defense never really limited what the offense could do. The offense killed itself.

Hey, no worries. You guys won. That's fine. I just don't wanna hear people saying that BB came up with some great strategy. And I thought Brady looked as bad as he has in a long time. Except, of course, for the one big throw over Jammer.

I take this away as some solice: At least we didn't lose playing "Martyball"... but the old codger will probably take the fall anyway.

I feel quite sorry for the Chargers' fans. I really do. You outplayed us for most of the time and were let down by inexperience and errors. I am sure this tough loss will add more experience and wisdom and keep the team a very strong one for the next few years.

Believe me - I was actually clapping my hands in admiration everytime LT took off with his cuts and turns. I was thoroughly impressed with him for what he did on the field and was also impressed with Rivers, who IMO did not make any big time mistakes. (My impressions soured later when LT made a stupid comment against BB but that doesn't take away my admiration for skills on the field.)

I read somewhere that the Bolts have most of the guys signed on for a few more years and think that they will continue to be among the best for some more time.

Very good game Bolts! Good luck!

Great point!

I liked the way some other poster had written it elsewhere: LT is angry that the Pats taunted them after the win using the same dance that Merriman did when taunting other teams after a sack.

No, he just won the game.

Well, you've got to admit, they limited them to fewer points than their opponent!

All I know is, we're playing next week, and you guys are not. Not bad for a coach who did nothing!

And remember - always remember - winners keep playing, losers keep whining. Anyone can win with "class". It's losing that really reveals the soul. And until your guys learn the art of losing with the same degree of aplomb as they do winning, you'll probably never know that championship feeling.

Well, how about your vaunted "D" guys? Merriman, he of untold class, kinda disappeared after falling on Brady after a thrown pass attempt and doing his little jig. And there he was, sucking oxygen in the 2nd quarter! Against an "inferior opponent", and after a bye week! Amazing!

Yes, they doubtless will. And we'll see how well they do it, won't we?

You do that. We'll jump all over you again then, too.

Enjoy the looooong, agonizing off-season!

WOW. A point by point breakdown and with color for added effect! :snob:

Point of my post was, Mr. Crayola Magic Marker Poet, the story coming in was how BB would have some kind of brilliant scheme to shut down the league MVP and make the young QB look silly. None of that happened.

I gave props for the win. The scoreboard never lies as to who plays on. But it doesn't always tell the story of what actually happened on the field. The Chargers handed the game to the Pats on a silver platter. They took it. Good for them. I would have done the same.

Just surprising that a team with so much "class" would act as if they had actually just won the Superbowl. According to the Patriot "standard" they still haven't won jack s h it yet. Right?

I can't disagree with you, though I think New England did come in with as effective a game plan as they could muster. The Pats O line did a very creditable job against a very very good pass rushing D. But give your props in a balanced manner. Brady had an off day. He missed a wide open receiver in the end zone in the first quarter. He makes that pass three times out of four. Yes, surely the Bolts dropped passes. Those were mistakes. Brady made some bad passes. Those that wound up being picks weren't due to anything great that the Bolts Dbacks did. Those too were mistakes. Would the outcome of the game be different if those passes weren't dropped? Quite possibly. But what might the outcome have been if Brady had one of his Bradyesque days? Props where props are due, please.

Bolts had a great season. Props to your team. My condolences on what must be a painful loss. But chin up. The Bolts talent won't go away soon, so your upside for the coming years is something to take away from what you should consider a very successful season.

CIAO

Super Bowl Shuffle Ditka...remember that?

Ditka is a freaking bildo. He has been smacking the Pats all year on countdown. For a guy that has won one Super Bowl and done NOTHING else other than ruin a franchise along the way (Saints) he ought to shut his fat freaking mouth, jackass. He's irrelevant.

BB was supposed to be the genius who would come up with a plan to stop the MVP. He did not.

The Pats' red zone D was supposed to limit the Chargers scoring. They did not.

The only answer BB had was nothing... well except for the following:
Eric Parker's atrocious performance, Clinton Hart's horrible hands, Quentin Jammer's 1 bad play... oh And Troy Brown for saving his butt.

Other than that, the Chargers O-line pushed that vaunted front 7 around. Seymour did nothing all day - he was more or less manhandled by a rookie.

But this Chargers team will rebound next year. And the Pats are coming to SD in the regular season, I think.

So that one should be really, really fun.

I'll be back then too.

So what is your point? You lost and you are talking smack? You do realize that your season is over and that you have not a thing at all to show for it but a steriod scandal which will change the rules about pro-bowl eligibility, and a head coach who may get fired?

Yeah, are the Bolts gonna blow their load in the regular season beating us and then not even make the playoffs like they did last year? Have a nice off-season.

Chargers play in New England. You lost. Does not matter who dominated. We dominated Denver last year and lost. Get over it.

Ditka on BB:

"Perception is genius, reality is not genius."

Wanker.

If only the Colts were coming out with all of these ridiculous comments, instead of the "experts" and the sore-losing Chargers. Somehow simpleton BB will be able to use these words to motivate his team.

Nickelbolt, thanks for bringing game to your posts this past week. I hope you do come back next season.

did he mention marty wasting a timeout by challenging an obvious fumble? my friend delighted in that saying "he's really going to wish he still had that timeout at the end of the game."
That quite possibly cost them the game. If the Chargers had the timeout left when they got the ball back with 1:10 left they could have run at least one more play which likely would have made the game-tying FG attempt makeable. Of course there are not guarantees if it goes to overtime but I thought that wasted timeout was typical Martyball panic - and I said so at the time.

It's too bad. I like Marty. But he always seem to choke when the stakes get higher.

The Bears had excellent coaching in 1985. Mike Ditka was complettely ignored, while Buddy Ryan coached the team to victory. Ryan was the first assistant coach in history to be carried off the field by the majority of his Super Bowl winning team.

Ditka, you went along for the ride, and to top it off, you showed no class the way you disrespected the real classiest RB in football, Walter Payton.

Hey, I was just coming here to post this.

It's absolutely true. If anything, the fact that the bears won only SB during that time shows what a crap coach Ditka truly was.

they practice more situational football than any team...nothing a player does on the field has not been practiced before and they have practiced such situations before week in week out......thats coaching..

You mean like knocking the ball down on 4th down instead of intercepting it? Even if he doesn't fumble he loses 15-20 yards.
