True. Not to mention the complete abandonment of the run in that game and in Super Bowl 42. Not to knock McD who was a offensive genius and will be missed, but I hope we see more patience in the running game this season.
Dillon got hurt, Maroney was hurt most of the 2nd half of the season and Faulk was injured in that game. They didn't abandon the run because they wanted to, but because they had to.
The same goes for SB. In the 2nd half NE only had Watson as a TE and no Neal or Faulk. They had no power set available and only Maroney as a viable running back. I no BB regrets only activating 2 TEs in that game and I strongly believe that NE keeping 5 RBs (and at least 4 viable HBs) the past two seasons is a relection of BB's regret over never really replacing Morris in 2007. Even look at the TE moves this offseason and the interior OL replacements. The run game is going to be more of a focus despite Brady returning.
