Patriots Player Departure Meyers to LV Raiders

Are you kidding you talking about the Raiders rebuilding?? You know that McDaniels is undefeated against BB and they have a superior Offense to us yeah they are winning this year too that I am sure of.
What does that have to do with Meyers not living up to his contract because he was injured?

Letting him walk is bad. Unless we’re planning on drafting a slot receiver.

Now we have to.

JNS, Zay Flowers, Josh Downs, Jayden Reed, Tank Dell, etc.

If Meyers in 2023 goes 24/293/2 BB is a genius.

If Meyers in 2023 goes 79/910/6 BB is a jackass.

Let's talk after 2023 is over.
I am little surprised that after his evaluation of the Patriots Offense Bob went along with letting him walk. Parker and Bourne doesn't inspire Confidence with me.

Was letting go of Meyers a planned strategy to discover what we have in Mac.

Meyers was Mac's safety valve 1 and safety valve 2 was Rham. Probably Bill and Bob want to see how Mac can perform with a decent cast and can he elevate the players around him. That's what you need in a franchise QB.

Maybe that's the game-plan. Getting into postseason is just a smaller piece, the larger piece would be should we invest in Mac. So probably they provide decent offensive line and decent players but not all world players because in long run you cannot retain them. You can have 1 shiny offensive wr toy and shiny OLine toy on a non rookie contract . So if you need to win in post season, the QB needs to elevate others or you get a decent QB on rookie contract and surround with all world talent. They should have done that last year but whiff of contract on Jonnu, Wynn and agholor and Patricia experiment really killed it...

Now with no Meyers do we see increased usage of Bourne and Thornton helping uncork their latent talent and abilities.

I would like to see that decent cast and Mac is not the type of player who elevates players around him its' the other way around.

Bill really does have it made. Someone else is always the fall guy.

The Krafts are watching their franchise being Ruined by an incompetent megalomaniac who's thought of Nothing these past THREE years but his own (and his family's) personal glory... Sad.

Three years for $33M total? That's a bargain in this market.
Crazy to lose him for that. Reiss was suggesting $15M+ and a longer deal.
I'm surprised he signed for that, but very disappointing to lose him for that.
Happy for JM. And for good reason, he's getting paid, will have Jimmy G throwing him balls in stride in a Josh McDaniels offense.

So lets see what we have in a young QB with very limited weapons by taking away his leading target?

this has to be a joke right? Bills plan is to put the crappiest team out there to see how Mac performs! if only the Cheifs or other teams thought of that with their QB's.

Bill is just operating like he always has with Brady. problem is he doesnt have the GOAT to clean up his mistakes.

Letting Meyers go is fine IF there is another shoe to drop. If we go into the season with parker/bourne/Thornton as your receivers. that might be the worse receiver corps in the league

No.. I don't mean that he makes the team crappier . But maybe Meyers as a safety blanket is limiting what Mac can potentially do. Maybe Meyers is the crutch on which Mac leans instead of running by himself ( believing in his throws and other receivers).

So try to see if Mac is able to perform outside of Meyers before we pick up his 5th year option.

So they let Meyers walk because he was Mac's favorite target? Ok, this explains Welker to Denver in 2013 too. Thank you, I never could figure that one out.

I could understand us letting him walk if the contract was really high, but seeing what it supposedly is, that's absolutely dreadful business sense from the Patriots. We're really in a hole at receiver potentially.

Good luck Jakobi!

It's like the DERELICTE version of TB12 to Moss in '07. Dude had blinders on in the SB.

Haven't read through if it's already been posted, but it's been reported Bill only offered Meyers 2 years $12M dollars. Ouch!
this can't be true
