I know both Hoyer and Newton should be on top of the situation, but I feel like McDaniels has not used the timeouts well at the end of the half and end of game. Even if Newton didn’t fumble, they would have had to rush to the LOS and spike it with very little time left. I have to believe that was an RPO because with no time left a run really wasn’t ideal, but it seems like Mcd keeps burning his timeouts quickly which hamstrings the team in the last 20 seconds, as demonstrated in KC and again yesterday at the end of the half and end of the game.

I know. In the KC game at the half I was yelling "Why aren't you saving the last timeout for the field goal?!" and then Hoyer gets sacked and then no 3 points. If you have a timeout there, you can at least kick a field goal.

That happened again in the last game. They burn their last timeout before it was time to kick a FG. I don't get it. It makes no sense to me.

Has more to do with the virtual impossibility of passing it for more than 10-12 yards. If that's all you can plausibly get, you have to preserve as much time as possible. There's no way this team can afford to run off 15-18 seconds to run another play. Brady used to do that all the time because he had confidence he could reel off 15-20 yard passes late in the game, which cuts down on the number of plays you need.

Time outs are not on Josh, he’s not the head coach.
