Fair or not Steve B will not be recognized as a good coach until he has success on another team. Kyle Shanahan is a good example.

"likely" - "will indeed"

Also, it's so hard to tell who is going to be a good coach at the next level. We have no idea about Mayo.
He might sound smart, but who knows. There's been a ton of D-staff or DC's that left the Pats and none really succeeded as head coaches.
But if he does go, it's probably a given that Stevie B gets the actual title next year.
