Matt Cassel plays like Drew Bledsoe

No comparison, Cassel is getting more comfortable when to scramble and when not to... Drew was a statue with a cannon arm

I regret making this thread because Bledsoe is such a sensitive topic for WAY too many people here.

Some are insulted because they think Bledsoe sucks and that Cassel is way better.

Some are insulted because they think Bledsoe was the man and that Cassel is nowhere near as good as Bledsoe.

I used Bledsoe as the comparison because of their similarities in having accurate cannon arms if given time, and poor pocket presence. However, Cassel is constantly improving in his pocket presence, and also throws for more accuracy. At the time of the thread Cassel also locked onto just a few passing reads, but that is improving as well.

Just to add more fuel to easily incensed people, I will now randomly type the words Montana and Young.

Good night.

Dont worry you wont have to worry about Cassel or Bledsoe being compared with one Tom Brady

How dare you compare Young to Montana!! :p

where is this cannon arm?

No way he plays like Bledsoe. Bledsoe, of course was better, but Cassel does bring a lot to the table. He has improved so much though over the course of this season, its quite remarkable. He has shown more improvement throught 9 weeks than anyone i can remember in recent history. Through the first few weeks, he was a one receiver look QB then would duck. now he goes through his progessions, probably only to a 2nd receiver most of the time, and instead of waiting to be sacked like earlier in the season, he takes off. I also believe the health of our OL has helped, but it has been both he and the line

I'm sorry; Matt Cassel can complete the short pass behind the line. ;)

Drew Beldsoe was a much better QB than Matt Cassel is. But maybe Matt will develop.
