I remember during that superbowl run in 2001 both Kevin & Marshall were asked about this and Kevin said matter-of-factly that they were distant cousins and had met only once or twice. Marshall said with obvious disdain that they were "very distant" cousins and that he didn't remember ever meeting Kevin (as if by suggesting there was a connection Kevin was trying to associate himself with Marshall's greatness). Loser. I think the fact that to this day he cannot bring himself to say anything nice about the Pats is hysterical. He makes himself look like an idiot every time he does it.
Well, lest we forget, the better team didn't win in XXXVI, and the Rams lost the game themselves. What a bitter, bitter man.
Well I'd ask marshall this...
Let's assume the Colts have the better WR, OL, TE, and RB. How the hell do you THEN come to the conclusion that the QB is better when the QB of the team with worse WR, OL, TE, and RB has the far better "stats", on pace to shatter every single season passing record?
I'm just waching it now as we get Total Access a day later. It did get rediculous but then again I can't take Faulk seriously anyway.
So we're not allowed to disagree and have our own opinions?I just don't understand why people get so worked up over the opinions of sportswriters, radio hosts or television commentators. Those people are generally not any smarter than the average bear. They might have more information than the average fan, but that doesn't make their opinions more right than the 6 pack drinking stiff down at the local pub. Whether it's Marshall Faulk, Skip Bayless or Glenn Ordway, they are still just guessing, as their wins/losses records at the end of each season tend to prove. If you find someone who's opinion you value, follow that person and ignore the people you think are clowns. After all, it's just entertainment.
For ESPN I would tend to agree, though there are days when Sean and John agree with each other. You will always have clowns like Shlereth and Greenberg, but guys like Reese, Parcells, and Ditka are going to tell you what they think. Then why are people complaining?
In a show if EVERYONE favors one team then there is no show or attraction. Remember when they ask two people on a show in a matchup like this, they are always going to take opposite sides. Since Rod took the Pats side, Faulk took Colts side. On the coaches segment Steve took the Pats side and Jim Mora took the Colts side. It is simple guys. Their objective on the show is not to be correct or objective but to ATTRACT AUDIENCE to their show to increase the viewership and ratings. That is all. Why do you think media creates controversies all the time???? Because it will increase viewership & ratings. That is all media cares about!!
When I need glasses. When will you stop flagellating yourselves????
Rod did not take the Pats. He was about 50-50, giving the nod to the Pats or Colts as he saw it. Marshall simply went with the Colts down the line.

I don't think anyone here misses this point - that's pretty fundamental. Since you're a newbie, and a Colts fan, you're likely not aware of the fact that Marshall Faulk does this, quite literally, EVERY time he talks about the Patriots. He hates them, he never picks them, he bashes them at every turn.
Having said that, there's certainly a degree of "Who cares?" that should probably take hold here - just not for the reason you're promoting.
