I posted a thread proposing that one key to BB's success was his ability to wage psychological warfare. His teaching methods, on defense, focus on smart play and patience. Bend, don't break, and be ready for the other guys to make a mistake.

Teams can rack up yards, pull off some big plays, yet more often than not still come out on the losing end. Then go to the locker room, look at the numbers, and can only arrive at the loser mantra "We did everything, we out played them. There has to be something underhanded going on."

His post-game conferences are maddening to the uninitiated - no rambling explanations, no pure-emotion reactions. Add fuel to the fire that is paranoia.

Look at the trick plays - the ineligible WR set has been in the mix for a long time. Bill, however, knew when to run it for the most impact. Not only for the game, or the season, but to add to the legendary paranoia.

An entire season against pass-happy teams, yet we never saw Goal Line Three-Corner until the most crucial point of the biggest game in many years?

BB is playing poker with 31 opponents. The problem is that he not only counts cards like Rain Man, he's got a printing press under that hoodie - ready to produce a much needed Ace at the exact, most perfect, moment.

This is nothing new for our coach Bill. Remember, the man developed the ONLY game-plan to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame. He dissected the K-Gun and slowed the most prolific offense of its time. He did it again when he found the key to the Greatest Show on Turf wasn't the line, the receivers, the QB - it was their (admittedly awesome) RB. No other team managed to figure that out?

31 teams need to accept the fact that BB is in their heads, seeding doubt at every turn.

Oh, they also need to remember that it comes down to execution by the players. Period.

Otherwise, if he were truly the spawn of Satan, James Bond, and the entire Tokugawa ninja force, the Patriots would be undefeated since he took office. Hell, Chuck Norris would fear them.

The truth - they work harder as a unit. They study harder as a unit. They believe with all they have that the little things - knowing the situation, knowing the tendencies - make the difference.

To paraphrase a recently departed WR - "It's not fun here."

Wrong, Reggie. It's incredibly fun when you get it.

"No other team managed to figure that out?" Great quote.

How come no other tean has been able to figure out that the Colt's run defense is awful, but Bill? Bill throws a 320 lb lineman in the game as a TE, a 255 lb fullback, and a 250 lb tailback into the game and just runs over the weak Colts D line. Bill has shown the rest of the league how to beat the Colts time and time again, but every other team sticks with their normal game plan and keeps losing. And then they claim that Bill must be cheating. It's pathetic.

Nice to see a Chevy post again! You are the Ernie Adams of Patsfans.com.

Thanks for some great insight.
