Looks like ESPN is backpedalling on this.. originally they reported it was a done deal.. Now the story says they're close, with quotes from Boras..

I think it has both helped and hurt. If this report is true, Manny will make more than he would have if he played out the final 2 years in Boston. Plus, he got him to sign in Boston for a killer contract. That's the positive.

On the negative, Boras has made Manny disliked and disrespected by many people in baseball for the stunt he pulled to get out of Boston.

because he leaves some uncashed checks in his glove box that some how means he doesnt care about money? manny has millions and he still felt the need to sell his grill on ebay. if i had his money i would have just given it away. manny doesnt live pay check to pay check lol. hes worth millions. he can afford to not cash his pay check the second he gets it. if he didnt care about money he woudnt have hired boris in the first place and forced his way out of boston looking to cash in. manny is all about the money.
