Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

He shopped him and there were no buyers (allegedly).

Say Belichick did shop Mac because he didn't think he was good and couldn't get any takers. Once he failed to trade him, it was Belichick's responsibility to put enough pieces around Mac to minimize Mac as a liability. If Belichick felt Mac was a big hole in the offense, it was his job to make that hole as least impactful as possible. Whether it is a dominant o-line to give the Patriots a strong run game or more receivers and a third down back to hide Mac's weaknesses as much as possible.

What Belichick did instead assuming your theory is true is give a QB he didn't want and doesn't think can play nothing around him so he can play even worse than normally would. That is a huge failure on Belichick part. The less talented you think your QB is, the more you have to invest in a lot of talent around him on offense.

That's oil and water in BB book.

I'm just thinking there could possibly be an in-season change
Me too.

If the Raiders come in here with only one bona fide pass rusher and Patriot cast offs at QB and WR and pound us into submission led by our ex-OC, we will have come full circle.

If this comes to pass, I expect BB to be fired and Mayo named interim HC.

Very sad. I remember how exciting it was when he spurned the Jets and joined New England.

FYI on putting good talent around Mac... D-Hop had 11 for 140 last game but BB didn't think we could use a guy like that on Offense smh.

BB won't be fired mid-season. His resume has earned him the right to retire after the season.

Yes, I sense that as well. And you know something I believe the feeling would then be mutual. I sense there were some things internally that took place during the off-season that likely put some constraints on the relationships in the organization. I can very much see this happening. If Brady can leave.. then so can BB. We don't want it to happen we all want BB the coach to coach this team out this funk. But they are in to deep.. internally and on the field thier is striffe..

Defensively the air was let out the balloon with judon and gonzo. Just summarizes the season.

True. But loosing looking competitive like say the lions were early last season.. they lost but they were competitive and the offense showed promise. We don't have anything that gives us hope nothing! It's hard pressed to complete a pass. If we were scoring and looking like a competitive team I'd like to think RK would be more optimistic.

Anyone who can't admit Jakobi is a good receiver by now is delusional. He is on pace for 100 catches, 1,096 yards, and 12 TDs right now on an offense that isn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard. Sounds pretty familiar to how he was able to produce here in spite of Cam, Mac and Patricia.

If we score under 5 points in our Third consecutive game you have to think heads are going to roll a new beginning. RK is not paying BB peanuts if we were performing like this BB is our current Jobs we would be shown the door.

If they lose the next 3, it would not shock me as the scenario I predicted in the off-season is closer to coming true: Losing record, only beating a divisional opponent without its starting QB, another loss to McDaniels/ Jimmy G and Bill losing the locker room.

It’s at Raiders. They must face their demons from last season.

Keep in mind he has a lot more favorable matchups than what he got in NE.

He’s a fine WR, but you can’t roll with him as your primary target. Bill has messed up the WR group so badly, Meyers is missed.

I'd take JimmyG over Mac in a heartbeat, and that's a bigger statement about how bad Mac has been... rather than how good Jimmy is.

I am somewhat biased on Jimmy since I always liked him but he is what he is at this point. An injury prone journeyman who will turn the ball over and it basically a C+ starter. With that said Mac is a D to D+ starter and I think Jimmy would already have been worth another win this season if he was our QB.

100% agreed! But did we every see it ending this badly? I've seen people mention 2009.. the 09 team still had talent Randy and Wes on offense still. This team looks they have quit and ha e no believe in BB or each other anymore. They did week 1 and even week 2! I just haven't seen any team that is bad like us actually look like this. Yes a loss Sunday I think RK holds a meeting to put BB and his staff on notice.

You'd have to take him on IR with a designation to return. Jimmy G good QB better agent.

I wouldn't. Won't help the team much on IR.

Meyers had 200 yards receiving entering last week, blaming the loss of a slow but steady slot receiver for Mac’s disastrous play is the height of ridiculousness… we have plenty of those.

And Brady had Jakobi Meyers benched in 2019, which I said was dumb at the time, and I was scolded by the Foxboro faithful here that Meyers was an UDFA bum. Now all of a sudden he’s Jerry Rice.

Mac has stunk to high heavens, until the coaching staff, fanbase and media can admit the biggest problem… they can’t hope to improve.
Agreed! Myers is a prototype of past patriots players. Worked hard and ended up being a reliable, sure handed WR. He's thriving with Josh in his system. We have no one at WR even close to what Myers can do. Especially against a washed JC Jackson and a JAG Wade at CB. I don't see any reason for hope on this roster at all?

Very true. He was treated as # 1 here. Yes Myers is a consumate pro. He was all in, hard working youg man. You want to keep those guys. I was always a BB supporter. But I can no longer make excuses for his GM mishaps.
