Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

The thought that some "offensive minded" "proven HC" is going to come in here and do better than Bill is absolutely asinine. Moving on from Bill means a full ground up rebuild of this roster and 3-5 years or longer of being at the bottom. Everything went wrong this year. Defense lost all four corners and its leader, the offensive line has not worked out (be it Klemm, an unmotivated Trent Brown or injuries) and Mac has clearly taken a step back rather than forward. Everyone around here wants to blame Bill. I get it. But blaming him and moving on isnt going to turn this roster into the 49ers.
I want to welcome Bill Belichick’s burner account to the site.

Newsflash: This roster needs to be rebuilt and we're already at the bottom.

I think people are aware there's no quick fix here. I think the general sentiment is that, if we're going to move on from BB and it's going to take 3-5 years for the new guy to build the roster, we'd rather start that process sooner than later.

And also we’re not interested in Bill wasting time trying to recreate the 90s Browns / 2000/2023 Patriots again over the next 3-5 years.

He has had 4 years to field his vision of the post-Brady offense.

And at this point people are pining for Cam Newton and Damiere Byrd.

I was looking up the 2021 season for a conversation in another thread and saw one game we won 36-13 and thought "Wow that's a lot of points" then instantly got sad that was my first thought lol.

Well looks like I will be falling off that wagon tonight.
Seems like just yesterday I was watching Bledsoe, Coates, Glenn, Jefferson, Brisby, Gash, Martin.

To be fair and this hurts to say when Bill came back as HC and cut Coates, and Slade, and Lane, and then later cut Milloy and then traded Glenn I hated this man.
Their were signs then.

he signed The corpses Of Charles Johnson the WR from Philly and the corpse of Torrance small the wr in Philly as well,
Let’s look at this
Johnson
Small
Ocho cinco
J J Stokes
Doug Gabriel
Donald Hayes

And we are shocked about The Ju Ju and Parker contracts?
Why?

With a potential high draft choice and large cap space in 2024, a large step back to respectability is possible as long as management doesn't screw it up.

You absolutely nailed it about Bill being a contrarian. He is.

Everyone: The league has moved into a new era, it’s all about offense now.
Bill: Fcuk that I’m Belichick d%#*!@t and I‘m smarter than you so I’ll do things my way. It will work I swear!

Mac's groceries lol

JuJu: 3.4 yards per target

JuJu, Jonnu, Sanu, Agholor - 4 players who came to the brilliant NE system and failed miserably. Jonnu and Agholor better now elsewhere.

Bill overpays and then has zero idea how to get the most out of them. It really was all Brady. He was the genius all along. Bill, Jawsh, BOB, Weis, all face planting without TB12.

Seeing Jonnu Smith actually be pretty productive on a team that doesn't really pass is just wild to me. He has 44 more yards than Juju and Gesicki combined. The money and resources that have been poured into finding a true number one receiving option post Gronk have been insane and we still have nothing there.

N'Keal Harry 1st round pick
Mohammed Sanu cost us a second round pick
Antonio Brown $9 million for a game
Devin Asiasi 3rd round pick
Dalton Keene 3rd round pick
Jonnu Smith $31 million guaranteed
Hunter Henry $25 million guaranteed
Tyquan Thronton 2nd round pick

Those 8 guys produced a whopping 257 catches, 2990 yards, and 23 receiving TDs. (Hunter Henry is the only mild success from that group and if you remove his 108 catches, 1288 yards and 13 TDs as a Patriot you're left with 7 guys who produced 149 catches, 1,702 yards, and 10 TDs)

That's a first, two seconds, two thirds, $60 million in free agent contracts to get 51 less catches, 2042 less yards, and 14 less TDs than just AJ Brown alone.

Brady and Josh were very smart in setting up teams to attack their weaknesses and systematically break them down and get them off balance as the game went on. It also helped that they still had weapons like Gronk, Edelman, Moss, Welker etc that you could routinely rely on
