Lugo to the DL, Lowrie called up

Lugo goes on the DL with a quad strain today and they recalled Lowrie.

Lowrie hasn't been doing all that great in AAA but I'm sure nobody cares as long as Lugo isn't in the lineup.

Yeah, I'd pretty much rather see anyone out there at this point.. I was watching the game at work and I'm not ashamed to say that we all cheered when Julio came up lame.. I'd be all for taking a hammer to it just to make sure..

If the Sox were smart they would pull a reverse move here. Usually they advocate R&R over surgury ... now I know it's just a quad strain but I think Lugo really needs surgury to repair it. Perhaps the rest of the year off would also be a wise idea.

Would like to see how Lowrie will do, after Pedroia, Ellsbury and our young arms.. this could be very interesting.. trade him at the deadline for more young talent.

Yeah ... like a bank bailout we'll lose $$$ but in the long term I think it will be a great move. Thanks to Theo's great job of drafting Theo can protect himself from himself and stay out of the FA market ... at least with the players who give him wood.
