"Based on film study, the NFL Network Playbook crew named New England's Kyle Love as one of the most improved defensive tackles in the NFL in 2011.
Their other picks were Geno Atkins and Isaac Sopoaga. Love, a 2010 undrafted free agent from Mississippi State, showed the ability to "hold two gaps" as a second-year starter, and showed up on tape as a "dirt dog," blue-collar player with disciplined performance to make the Patriots' defensive line a strength".

I have thought he has done a great job all year. It is nice to see the football world notice.

Just the fact that BB feels confident enough to move Vince off the nose as much as he has tells me all I need to know about Love's play.

He's a player. I think of him as sort of a mini-Wilfork out there.

Deaderick has been great too...especially in the playoffs.

Yup. Not only his play, but I am VERY impressed by both Love's and Wilfork's conditioning. The speed and duration of those two, considering their size, speaks volumes for what the Patriots strength and conditioning regimen accomplishes.

He's been playing incredibly well, and I absolutely love watching him and VW out there. As a big VW fan it's great to see him able to show off some of his other talents besides simply clogging up the middle.

I was somewhat critical of Love earlier in the year, but he's really come on and made a believer out of me. Both he and Deaderick have really blossomed this season.

Always liked Love and Pryor (IR) but Deaderick has amazed me rebounding from what seemed to be an attitude problem of sorts late last season. Good for him.

So do I!

I wonder if the new locker room dynamic has anything to do with that. Seems like the character > talent concept has really kicked into overdrive this season. I find it odd that I was questioning some of these moves over the course of the season when I look back on it.

It feels like addition by Haynesworth's subtraction.

Good point.

The more fans know about the Patriots, the more we questioned the inexplicable personnel moves this season.

Love actually had a pass deflection while running lie a linebacker against the Ravens.

I started loving him since he did this

If Love and Deaderick continue to progress in year 3 with another offseason, our D-line in 2012 could be Love-Wilfork-Deaderick.

That would add to 2010 as one of the best draft classes for a team ever, two starting quality DL in the 7th and UDFA.

Yeah, he ran parallel to a Flacco rollout and closed the one passing lane that might have existed. That was a great hustle play.
