@PatsWickedPissah and @patfanken we mourn the demise of the ex-Jumbo, with the strains of “Tuftonia’s Day” echoing faintly, hoping for another Mark Buben to make it from Ellis Oval onto an NFL roster.
We DID have a guy make the Bengals who graduated a year or 2 after me in '70, '71 Pete Watson was his name. I can't believe I came up with that name from over 50 years ago, and I have trouble remembering some guys on the Pats roster without a depth chart. "Take THAT alzheimers

He was one of my favorite draft picks we made.
Hope it’s not a Jonnu situation where he goes to like Miami or San Fran and plays great there.
Not many Patriots Draftees go elsewhere and play well buyer beware.

The difference is Smith was good before coming to New England and was again after. Bell has never shown to be good since being drafted.

I vaguely remember a running back from Tufts signing with the Patriots maybe in the Harvard Stadium period. I thought his first name was Walter but maybe it was Pete Watson?

If Sow is out does Strange maybe get one more year?
At this point, I believe that he is a dependable NFL-quality backup LG. My hope is that we keep him. I'm not at all sure that Brown or Wallace is ready to step in at LG. So, for me, I would keep Strange (or sign Risner or another veteran free agent).

I don't think that any of someone else's cuts will be a better choice than Strange.

Best Interior Offensive Line Free Agents, 2025:

  • Shaq Mason
  • Nick Harris
  • Liam Eichenberg
  • Sam Mustipher
  • Mark Glowinski
  • Cody Whitehair
  • Dalton Risner
  • Kyle Hinton
  • Elijah Wilkinson
  • Quinn Bailey
  • Carter O'Donnell
  • Wesley French
  • Nate Davis
  • Nick Gates
  • Brenden Jaimes
  • Pat Elflein
  • Connor McGovern

I wouldn't be shocked if the Giants traded Winston back to the Saints, if they cut him, absolutley sign him. Devito is a Syracuse guy, so I'm always going to want more Syracuse guys

Gunner over Berrios still annoys me (as much as two journeymen kick returners can). Berrios was equally as good as a returner but offered way more as a receiver but for some reason we still kept Gunner instead.

The rapid and significant declines of Mr. Sow and Mr. Strange have really surprised me, I thought one or the other were going to start the season as LG1. This was based on their rookie years and my disregard for Scott Peters who I still think failed to develop a single OLman last year.

We have to keep in mind that these guys are quite young men so we really don’t know which of them peaked in college, as many do, and which ones will wind up developing in their early 20s much more than their late teens.

Come on everyone knows certain PatsFans members know.
