You know, we talk about stats at practice and things like that. I went to one back in '09 when Brady was coming back from his injury. He was rolling out to his left and throwing on the run, and not looking very good. He was screaming and yelling obscenities, pretty much overall he just sucked that day. The consensus was that he sucked at rolling left and throwing on the run, and he was trying to get better. Today, the media would have said he was 3-12 with poorly thrown balls or some BS like that.

Camp struggles don't mean ****. That's where you work on **** you need to be better at.
Exactly right Steve great points you brought up. Everything you've stated is logical. Is why I'm so high on Drake.. go back to last season.. the kid actually won the QB job and Wolf didn't want to start him. Drake was playing off pure talent and just being fearless last season.. just like Allen was his rookie season. Now some professionals are coaching him. Expect Drake to make smart decisions, get down when he breaks contain, throw accurate balls on the run.. and use his football IQ to put the offense in scoring position.

If Chism isn't at practice tomorrow, it wouldn't surprise** me if he starts the season on IR.

**Surprise, no. Sadden, yes.

He probably wouldn’t get a lot of playing time early in the season anyway but that would be a bummer.

Last year's gotta be one of the worst Patriots drafts this millennium, right?

Drake was the pick at 3 but everytime I see a Ladd Mckonky article I get teary eyed.

Polk-bust of the highest order. Ras-ir dowling and Jordan Richards level bust.

Wallace, Robinson, and baker...??? Could easily be cut especially if either wr or ol rooms weren't bottom 1/3 in league.

Dials injured and bell and Milton are gone.

People say to wait 3 years to judge a draft but almost the entire class is already gone!!!
It's close to setting a precedent... should make Wolf proud.

Hell, from reports, there were days where Matt Cassel looked better in practice than Brady did.
This is a good example of the "game" guys versus "practice" guys. Some players simply are not going to shine in practice, but get them on the field, under the lights and pressure and that's when they're showing out to their potential.

Maybe that's their motivation? Who knows, but there are just some players where they can really turn it on in the real action.

(Note: Brady got to a point where he could do it ANYTIME - where he'd go 17/18 in practice too, but I don't like comparing the all-time greats to current guys -- aint fair to anyone)

Dowling should not be compared to Polk or Richards.

Dowling couldn’t overcome injuries, Richards couldn’t overcome lack of talent.

Didn’t even make it into year two. Is this the 2nd or 3rd one from last years draft class?
Perhaps we should simply call this a Mayo draft and move on. BTW, we've had worse drafts, even recently. This will be remembered as the Maye draft much as we had the Bledsoe Draft, the Brady draft and the Jones draft. The QB choice overshadows everything else.

Maye, Dial and Milton were good picks.
Wallace may be a 2026 starter.
Polk and Robinson were poor picks
Baker was a very long shot in the dark
========

1 MAYE - our future
2 POLK - will go to IR
3 WALLACE -backup OG
4 ROBINSON - waived injured
4 BAKER - TBD
==============
6 DIAL - IR
6 MILTON - traded for a better pick
7 BELL waived

Our OL has been one of the worst for the last 3 straight years, so it makes sense that we're just turning the page.
For that reason alone I wouldn't be surprised to see Strange gone. I've been a believer in his potential, but he's firmly on the bubble. And so far, I'd rather have Brown start games at either LG or C than Strange, although he does seem to be a valuable versatile backup at all IOL spots.
